My life has been filled with a lot of challenges lately, mostly financial, and so an associate of mine gave me some good advice on how to change my fortune. For starters she suggested that I needed to change my environment as my clientele was partly the cause of my struggles. These people she says are plagued by too much problems and are stagnant as a result.
She has also adopted the New Age ideology of surrounding one's self with people who are positive and like-minded and dropping those who are baggage-laden. The truth is, I started adopting this belief until I started becoming someone I hated. What I discovered from my sojourns was that most of these positive people are just like those I had labelled good-for-nothings and anti-socials. the only difference was some had material privileges while some had none.
I also found out that God loves them just the same as me and that his Grace is also sufficient for them. I also found out that the rejected list was growing longer and longer as everyone seemed to be adopting this new ideology. And so it was I asked Jesus what he would do in my case and this was what I received in my spirit:
"Most of these persons you are shunning are broken-hearted and needs to be loved. But it is not with the love of man. You need to transcend the love that I invested in you because I live and move and have my being with you. I was not afraid to walk with people despite their failings and personalities. I am He who strengthens you. Now go and do likewise because greater is He that lives in you than he that is in the world." The scriptures Isaiah 61, Psalm 147, Luke 4, and Psalm 34 have been given to strengthen me on this journey.
I was rewarded in more ways than one as I have seen the hand of the Lord doing great things above that which I can even think or imagine. Some of which I am not privileged to write about but in due course, if He wills, the Master will reveal.
However I think it most fitting to share part of a poem, a young homeless and destitute woman wrote me on Friday, March 27, 2015:
The forward thinking of a spiritual being
allowing the guiding hand of God to lead
Opening her heart to those in need
Yes, to you I address this poem Miss Cecile
The clothing you could see and choosing some for me
The idea I never saw for myself
But with this poem
I offer my sincere thanks.... Blessed Love
