Heavenly-minded but of earthly good

"You are so heavenly minded that you are of no earthly good!" As a babe in Christ I was chastised with those words very frequently and for good reason too. I had separated myself from this evil world so much that I even stopped listening to the news. I was overcome with several emotions a week ago when I was told about the case of a ten year old girl, an alleged victim of attempted rape, who was stabbed in the neck as she slept in her bed. The incident took place on Georges Lane in Downtown Kingston and the Central Kingston Police are investigating. This, like many other incidents that I have witnessed in these gritty communities go unreported for various reasons. After hearing about the incident, I could not sit still. I decided to visit the little girl at home. I walked past a small gathering at the front of the tenement dwelling and climbed a rickety stairway to get to her. She had just been discharged from the Bustamante Hospital for Children and was resting in bed, a large white bandaged displayed at the side of her neck. If any man speaks let him speak as an oracle of God! 1 Peter 4 verse 11. I am not too presumptuous so as not to know when I am being warned by God. Also, I am not too spiritually blind not to notice when the hand of God is writing to mankind.
